We do well here and undo all the good elsewhere

Just recently I applauded the good deed the country did by writing off Cuba's debt and many other continental engagements that seek maximum utility for all.

Just recently I applauded the good deed the country did by writing off Cuba's debt and many other continental engagements that seek maximum utility for all.

But in other spheres we are doing badly and need urgent improvement.

The news that Collin Taderera secured contracts worth more than R50million in a country ravaged by inequality, unemployment and few economic opportunities is an embarrassment and should not be condoned.

The Pretty Mthimkhulus, who when things fall apart start revealing their criminal and corrupt bosses, are equally embarrassing.

This shows that Home Affairs' horrors were in one way or another compounded by vile women eager to take a few cents and prostitute their country.

They were happy to "marry" foreigners so that foreigners could acquire South African citizenship for few rands.

I have suffered under apartheid, both economically and socially, and continue to do so in a free country.

I am patriotic and would not love to see the majority of South Africans' lives destroyed, put on hold and reduced to nonexistence by apartheid benefitting from the new dispensation.

A situation in which foreigners dictate terms and conditions in the country must come to an end.

Phillimon Mnisi,

Johannesburg
