.The ambitious Ajax Cape Town seem unstoppable in their quest to annex the MTN-CAF Confederation Cup and have vowed to win the second leg of their tie against Mount Cameroon in Cameroon next month.

The Urban Warriors thrashed Mount Cameroon 5-1 in a one-sided first leg played in an empty Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on Saturday night.

Upbeat Ajax mentor Craig Roslee told Sowetan his charges are prepared and will continue to win until they reach the finals of the Confederation Cup.

"The guys are ready for anything and I told them not to take things easy. They must go all out for goals in order to win games and I am happy that we managed to score five goals," he said.

"When we go to Cameroon next month for the second leg we will apply a new strategy so that we bury them for good."

The mood in the dressing room of the Cameroonians was sombre and the frustration was visible on the faces of the players and coach Engelbert Mbarga.

"We played very bad tonight [Saturday], our performance was below par," said Mbarga.

But he warned: "Our followers in Cameroon cannot believe we lost 5-1 and they want us to beat Ajax at home. The weather in Cameroon is very hot, unlike here and it will help us as we are under pressure to beat Ajax."

The visitors' goal came from a penalty by Sielenoy Djiena after Ajax's Clayton Daniels handled the ball.

Nathan Paulse and Mkhanyiseli Siwahla both scored a brace for Ajax, while Russel Mwafulirwa netted the other goal.
