Enterprising golfer Pontso Ndou is determined to snatch the Captains Cup when he tees off at the Soweto Country Club in Pimville tomorrow.

Ndou, who won the club's championship three weeks ago, is oozing confidence and is determined to win his second trophy in a month.

Tournament organiser Peter Mohlahlane said the event was bound to be exciting because there were a number of good golfers who would be taking part on the day.

He said though Ndou was on top form, he would be challenged by Emmanuel Masodiedza, Roger Skidow and Wellington Shaw, who are exceptionally good players. Mohlahlane said he also could not rule out Simon Selepe, who has improved tremendously in the past few months.

"Selepe has shown great improvement in his game. For the past three months he has been playing far above himself and could be the dark horse on the day of the tournament.

"Although he has not won any competition, he is gradually becoming a threat in the game."

Mohlahlane said that another player who could pose a threat was Ronnie Mmusi, who has won a number of tournaments at the venue, and could claim the cup if not checked.

Tee-off time is at 7am. For more information call Peter Mohlahlane on 083-474-2893.
