Twenty-eight female guards were unfairly dismissed by a security company because the client‚ Metrora.
A Limpopo medical doctor appeared in the Seshego magistrates' court yesterday to face charges of raping a minor.
Charles Molapo, 32, a doctor at the Lebowa- kgomo Hospital, was arrested yesterday after turning himself in to the police.
Molapo had been on the run for two weeks after a case was opened against him.
He is accused of raping a 16-year-old girl.
The grade 10 pupil of Madiba Park near Polokwane was a tenant at Molapo's home when the alleged rape took place.
Molapo allegedly raped the girl on several occasions until the girl was advised by her teachers to report the matter to the police.
According to sources the girl had told her mother about her ordeal. T he mother said she would discuss the matter with the suspect's sister, who was a colleague of her's.
But the girl's ordeal continued even after this. She then decided to tell her teachers about it.
"Each time he came home drunk he would order other occupants of the house out before raping the girl," said the informant.
"The next day he would tell the girl he was sorry."
The girl told other tenants that Molapo would become violent during his sexual attack on her, causing serious vaginal pains and injuries.
The girl is reportedly undergoing treatment at the local hospital as a result, said the source.
Molapo was not asked to plead yesterday and was remanded in custody.
He will appear in court again on Friday for bail application.
A teacher at the school told Sowetan the girl had difficulty walking and that her concentration in class was very low.
Molapo appeared in the same court last Monday on a charge of assault with the intention of doing grievous bodily harm.
He allegedly attacked a neighbour with an axe after an argument.
Molapo told the court he was under the influence of alcohol and admitted he had a drinking problem.
According to the source Molapo also blamed alcohol for the rape of the girl.
