The people of Limpopo will have the first chance to watch the newly assembled South African national development team, "AmaBinneplaas" in action against Mauritius in Polokwane on Saturday, May 3.

The Safa development team, which was announced by head coach Serame Letsoaka yesterday, engages the Indian Ocean islanders in a qualifier of the inaugural African Nations Championship at Peter Mokaba stadium.

The match is likely to attract a horde of spectators from Limpopo, especially from around Polokwane, considering that it has been a long time since a national team has played at this venue.

The team is dominated by National First Division players and a few from the current Under-20 squad.

Letsoaka has drafted in a number of good youngsters in the team who are capable of beating Mauritius.

The players include Dynamos' forward Sibusiso "Big Foot" Nhlapo, Ikapa Sporting attacking midfielder Kurt Lentjies, Moroka Swallows defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele, FC Cape Town's striker Marchelino Fransch, Mpumalanga Black Aces left-back Gordon Gilbert and Kaizer Chiefs defender Tlou Molekwane.

The team will play two preparatory friendlies against Botswana in Gaborone on April 22 and 28.
