The City of Tshwane has started with plans to engage communities in the municipality in preparations for the 2010 World Cup.

The City of Tshwane has started with plans to engage communities in the municipality in preparations for the 2010 World Cup.

The municipality has organised a a 2010 World Cup imbizo scheduled for a leading hotel in the city tomorrow, starting at 6.30pm.

Speakers will include Andreas Herren, Fifa communications director and his Local Organising Committee counterpart Tim Modise.

Modise will also use the opportunity to give people attending an update on their state of readiness, focusing on all nine host cities.

Also expected to address the hundreds of people expected to attend is Godfrey Nkwane, Tshwane's World Cup chief executive officer.

"It is an informal get-together to update residents of Tshwane on the World Cup progress," said Nkwane.
