Yesterday morning the body of Mafuthi Zungu, 30, was exhumed in northern Zululand.
Her throat had been slit and she had been buried in a shallow grave.
Zungu went missing on Saturday after her boyfriend, Bhoyi Dlamini, a taxi driver, picked her up at home.
Her father, Bernard Mlambo, said he was not aware of any problems between the two.
"He fetched her on Saturday and as far as I know everything was fine between them," Malambo said.
He said when the family realised that Zungu was missing, they sent out a search party.
"We looked for her everywhere but could not find her," Mlambo said.
"Then we heard Dlamini had confessed to the police that he had murdered her.
"What will I tell her her 4-year-old child?"
