As we all know, change makes some people sick to their stomachs.
Some people are not happy that Julius Malema is the new, freely and democratically elected president of the ANC Youth League.
It is sad that the youth of our country had to exchange blows after Malema won the presidency of the ANCYL.
We should set an example to our neighboring countries. Malema has a huge, daunting task ahead of him.
Having led the students on a strike in 2002 might have been one of his many mistakes, but we need to be thankful that God has blessed us with a promising young leader who is imbued with political talent.
Malema must realise that he now leads 300 000 youths in the country. I am quite confident that he has learnt from the mistakes of the past when he nearly caused turmoil on the streets of Joburg as the then leader of Cosas.
Let us give the young man a chance. It is time we empowered our youth. To those of you who cannot accept the results of the election, go to Zimbabwe and discuss it with Robert Mugabe.
Being one of the youngest presidents that the youth league has ever elected, I hope that he will demonstrate maturity in the execution of his challenging duties.
