Police spokesman Malcolm Mokomene said the incident took place on Friday night.
"Joana Mdluli, 57, opened a case of attempted murder against the reservist.
"The two allegedly had an argument when the reservist arrived at the victim's house and demanded to see his girlfriend, (Mdluli's daughter)," Mokomene said.
He said the reservist allegedly shot twice at Mdluli but missed. The suspect apparently left his service pistol at the scene. He has not yet been arrested.
In another incident in Bushbuckridge Desmond Mathebula was allegedly shot in the leg and wounded by unknown men near Mbatimi tavern. - Sapa
