A 45-year-old man suffering from epilepsy, who had gone to Pastor Chris Oyakhilome's Night of Bliss, an all-night prayer meeting, has gone missing.
Tukela Patrick Kali of Queenstown in Eastern Cape travelled with his mother Nomakosazana Kali and a group of other people to attend the healing seminar.
The seminar was hosted by Pastor Chris, as Oyakhilome is affectionately known, at the Johannesburg Stadium about two weeks ago.
Kali's sister, Nothembu Siloti, told Sowetan yesterday that a search conducted by the family proved unsuccessful.
"We have been to hospitals, police stations and mortuaries to look for him but we cannot find him," Siloti said. "We have opened a missing person's case with the police."
Police spokesman Captain Bhekizizwe Mavundla confirmed that a case had been opened.
Siloti said they were worried because his condition could get worse if he does not take his medication.
"We are also scared that he might not even be aware of where he is and how to contact his family members," she said.
Kali's mother, Nomakosazana, said that she was very upset by her son's disappearance.
"I do not want to imagine what might happen to him if he is not found soon.
"We arrived at the stadium at about 9am. He was right there beside me all the time."
She said her son went missing at about 7pm.
"He stood up, as though he was going to the toilets, but never returned," she said. "At first we thought he would easily find his way back to where we were sitting - but he did not."
Kali was wearing black trousers, a black shirt with white stripes in front, black shoes and a camouflage cap. He is about 1,6 metres tall and thin.
"I went to the stadium because I believe in Pastor Chris' healing power," Nomakosazana said. "I had faith that my son would be healed.
"It's just that he forgets things very easily."
