Bhekamahubhu Reserve has suffered a great loss following the death of the main wife in the Nzuza royal family. Bhekisile Tobhile Nzuza, commonly known as Makhuzwayo to the community, died at Eshowe Hospital after she succumbed to a stroke. She was born on August 25 1924 at Mvutshini, Gingindlovu.

Makhuzwayo was compared to a strong beast because she feared nothing. As a businesswoman who focused mainly on farming, she created jobs for many women who wanted to learn more about agriculture. She also introduced sewing lessons for women in the area.

At the local Mvutshini Lutheran Church, she was a member of the Women's Praying Team. She used her influence to ensure churches and halls were built.

As a royal wife of Emfeni, King Goodwill Zwelithini's father, Nyangayezizwe, used to visit Emfeni to see Makhuzwayo.

She left the Lutheran Church for St John's (commonly known as Echibini) Church.

Pastor Thokozile Nzuza Mpanza said of her: "She was a mother to everyone who needed comfort."

Makhuzwayo will be buried at the local cemetery at Emfeni, Wombane, tomorrow. The service will be held at her home at 10am.
