Prominent radio couple Thuso and Mamontha Motaung have had their dignity restored after getting some of their assets back.

The assets, worth R15million, were attached by the Scorpions in March last year. The couple was accused of defrauding the SABC of R32million.

They were however found not guilty and the case discharged by the Johannesburg commercial crimes court two weeks ago.

Their lawyer, Zola Majavu, said yesterday that the returned property was estimated at R8million.

This included furniture and five luxury cars.

Also given back were the couple's three houses, one in Diepkloof, Soweto, another in Bloemfontein and yet another in Mossel Bay.

Majavu said: "Not all the furniture returned is in good condition. Some is damaged."

Motaung himself was not too happy with the state of some of the furniture. "Some is beyond repair and needs to be replaced," he said.

"It is obvious it got wet while it was kept in storage in Bloemfontein."

Majavu said the Motaungs also had various monetary investments that were attached and these would be returned as well.

"We were homeless after our property was attached," Motaung said.
