Development coaches in Limpopo will be equipped with skills, thanks to Mokapane Academy which has invited knowledgeable coach Ted Dumitru to conduct coaching clinics on Sunday.

Dumitru, who is from the Football Institution, will conduct all-day clinics in Mokopane.

The proceedings will start at 9am. Ephraim Ntsangwisi, the academy's sports manager, said yesterday the former Bafana Bafana coach had agreed to conduct the clinics on Sunday.

Dumitru said yesterday that the clinics would focus on developing football in Limpopo.

"They will also help the coaches in their studies towards qualifications in coaching. I will also ensure that I acquaint them with the new scientific concepts in soccer.

"However, I am concerned that we do not have a pool of quality players from development structures. And the ongoing closure of soccer academies must come to an end," said Dumitru,.

Ntsangwisi said the clinics would come in handy in terms of imparting invaluable knowledge among their development coaches.

"I expect a sizeable number of coaches to attend on Sunday. This will not be once-off clinics because we intend to organise as many as possible," he said.

Each coach is expected to pay about R100 to attend the clinics.
