SYDNEY - Head coach Alan Thompson has warned Australia's swimmers they will have to improve their conversion rate of trials form into medals at the Beijing Olympics in August.

Eight world records, six of them in Olympic events, were set at the national trials that ended here on Saturday.

But Australia, one of the traditional powers of swimming, have a history of failing to replicate trials form at major meetings.

Only 30 percent of the Australian team swam faster in Athens than they did at the 2004 Olympic trials. - BBC
