A 29-year-old KwaMashu, Durban, man who was out on bail for murder was yesterday re-arrested for another murder.

Police said he was arrested for the murder of Sizwe Khumalo at the township's notorious L section. Khumalo was allegedly shot and killed by the suspect on Good Friday during a street party.

No one knows what started the fight, but witnesses say the victim and the suspect were seen arguing before Khumalo was shot.

Police spokesman Siwe Nxumalo said yesterday that although it was not yet clear what had started the fight, police investigations had established that the suspect was out on bail in a case in which he is alleged to have killed another man.

"Although at this stage details of the suspect's previous offence are not available, we have established that the suspect has another murder case pending," said Nxumalo.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Verulam magistrate's court soon on murder charges.
