Contact local travel and reservation agents and become a part of their regular referrals. For their services, they will expect between a 10percent and 35percent commission of your room rate.

Most people will contact you ahead of time to enquire about your bed and breakfast (B&B). So advertise or list your availability with your local B&B broker.

Some people will check the local telephone listings and newspaper advertisements when they arrive in town. Others will just drive across the country, come to a town or city they think is interesting, and start driving through the residential areas looking for B&B outlets.

Have a sign posted either in your front yard or on the front of your house. If possible, put your business on billboards and give directions to your place. The signs must have your contact numbers.
