Danny K's song Real Man is being lauded for talking about the abuse of women at a time when the subject dominates the headlines.

The song has been nominated for Song of the Year at the upcoming Samas.

The song is receiving massive airplay on radio and highlights the plight of women and children at the hands of abusive men. The song was inspired by a fight the artist saw and is expected to top the charts because of its relevance.

"I saw a couple fighting while I was recording my latest album. I saw this guy screaming at his woman. He was abusing her emotionally. So I started writing this song. Women need to be respected and loved. Anybody fighting woman abuse will always get my support," he said.

Danny K said he was excited to be nominated for the Song of the Year.

"This is the first time any of my songs has been nominated for Song of the Year. It is a humbling experience. I hope it makes it into the top four," he said.
