New buses for Fifa

New 200 luxury buses will be bought to transport the Federation of International Football Associations (Fifa) family during the 2010 World Cup.

New 200 luxury buses will be bought to transport the Federation of International Football Associations (Fifa) family during the 2010 World Cup.

The Fifa family includes people who will be on duty for Fifa, VVIPs, VIPs, certain accredited media people and others with transport rights.

"We will also be transporting teams taking part in the World Cup," said Dennis Mumble, the Local Organising Committee's chief competitions officer.

"There is also freight, where equipment belonging to participating countries will be transported to wherever they want them overnight.

"The buses will be bought by the Department of Transport. We are working with the department in relation to transport projects for the World Cup. Transport will be one of the biggest legacy projects of the World Cup," said Mumble.
