Cosatu's axed president Willy Madisha plans to fight for his job in court.
The SABC reported yesterday that Madisha planned to go to the high court and the equality court to fight his dismissal.
Madisha, who was axed last month, is seeking to be reinstated and also wants monetary compensation.
He was dismissed over claims he made about a donation to the South African Communist Party (SACP) that went missing.
Malawian businessman Charles Modise laid a complaint against the SACP last year in connection with a R500000 gift he claimed to have made to the party in 2002.
He said he gave the money, packed in black plastic bags, to Madisha, who swore he handed the stash to SACP general secretary, Blade Nzimande.
Nzimande denied receiving the money.
Madisha made a statement to the police about the gift.
Last month the police said they had completed an investigation into the case and that the docket would be handed to the director of public prosecution for a decision on whether to prosecute.
Madisha voluntarily stepped down as Cosatu president in October when the investigation started into the missing donation, to allow it "to continue without my interference".
