Shampoos slow down irritants on the skin

How does anti-dandruff shampoo work?

How does anti-dandruff shampoo work?

Dandruff is thought to be caused by an overgrowth of the yeasts that live on normal skin. The overgrowth irritates the skin, which then overproduces skin cells. These form scales and are shed as flakes of dandruff. The shampoos work in three ways: they inhibit the division of cells; they break up the accumulation of scales and they slow down the growth of yeast.
