If you are hungry for spiritual revival this Easter, the three-day Joyous Celebration 2008 Tour launch must be the answer.

The famous gospel contemporary group kicks off its series of performances at the State Theatre in Pretoria from Thursday until Sunday.

As usual followers of the group are expected to converge on Pretoria to find spiritual solace.

Among the highlights of this year's performances will be Ntokozo Mbambo, one of the shining stars of the concept. She will be there mesmerising the audience with her mellow voice.

Since joining Joyous Celebration Mbambo has matured in the gospel music field. She will not be alone. The flexible Nobathembu will also be there to entertain music lovers.

To complete the set-up, Mthunzi Namba and Jabu Hlongwane have been added to the mix.

After all these years the concept continues to inspire people and gospel fans worldwide.

Its aim of reviving and celebrating spiritual music has inspired and elevated the status of the genre in this country.

In the process the group has managed to unearth, develop and showcase new and talented musicians and providing them with a solid platform from which to launch their careers.

Looking back at where it started in 1996, the concept has produced successful musicians and managed to sustain itself.

In the past, music lovers had enjoyed Joyous Celebration's collaborations with other successful local musicians such as Sibongile Khumalo, the late Wendy Mseleku, Sharon D, Benjamin Dube, Rebecca Malope, Tshepo Tshola and many more.

Joyous Celebration kicks off the performance on Thursday at 7.30pm. Tickets cost between R120 and R160 at Computicket and Shoprite Checkers.
