It's all systems go for the popular Dona's Mates Development Easter Games in Orange Farm this weekend, starting on Friday.

"We are delighted that clubs from other areas have also registered to take part," said Malefetsane Phatlane, a spokesman for the organisers.

"It is a yearly development soccer tournament that is growing in leaps and bounds," Phatlane said. The support from the clubs and the Orange Farm community has been wonderful."

Co-organiser James "Maradona" Shabangu said they were using the tournament to develop the beautiful game in Orange Farm.

"We hope that talent scouts from the Premiership and First Division will attend in search of fresh blood. The same applies to junior national team technical staff members.

"The Gauteng department of sports, arts, culture and recreation, Hummel, Beauty Centre and Lahers Print have come on board to sponsor the tournament."

Shabangu said clubs from as far as Springs and Durban would take part in five categories - Under-13s, Under-15s, Under-17s, women and seniors.

"Participation is on a first come, first served basis."

Call Shabangu on 082-743-7672 or Phatlane 082-626 -7803.
