There was an air of excitement and encouragement when Innocent Mayoyo, pictured, joined Dynamos in January but the Dynamites have not been exploding as expected under the tutelage of the admired mentor.

This after Mayoyo suffered his second defeat at Dynamos when they went down 0-3 against the rejuvenated Witbank Spurs in their National First Division (NFD) Inland Stream match at Ackerville Stadium on Saturday.

It was Mayoyo's fifth match at Dynamos and apart from the two setbacks at the team, he drew in one match and won two .

The defeat made FC AK's course of playoffs qualification stronger and Bahumi were leading them by five points before their match against Winnerspark in Seshego yesterday.

Pat Malabela, Dynamos' boss, stopped short of admitting that his team will fail to secure a berth in the playoffs this season.

"We we need to win if we entertain hopes of playing in the playoffs."

University of Pretoria walloped neighbours GaRankuwa United 2-0 in Tshwane, also on Saturday. Mpumalanga Black Aces beat African Warriors 2-0 at Charles Mopeli Stadium.

Maritzburg United pipped Ikapa Sporting 1-0 in Pietermaritzburg.

Nathi Lions mauled Durban Stars 2-0 in a Durban derby in Umlazi and FC Cape Town beat Hanover Park 1-0 at Blue Downs Stadium.
