The Modimolle municipality in Limpopo has organised a business summit for the 2010 World Cup finals on Friday morning.
It will take place at the municipality's auditorium, starting at 10am.
Charles Powell, the municipal manager, said they had invited all the owners of lodges, Bed and Breakfast and hotels operating in the area to attend the summit.
Individuals and groups who also want to be part of the accommodation industry for the World Cup are welcome to attend.
"It is the first of many projects that the municipality will be hosting for our communities as part of our preparations for the World Cup," Powell said.
"We all know that accommodation is a serious challenge for the World Cup because there are more than 500000 tourists expected here during the tournament.
"Besides tourists from other countries, we also have South Africans who will be travelling to areas where the games will be played.
"It is a great for us that Polokwane is one of the host cities for the World Cup. Almost everybody coming from Gauteng to Limpopo will pass Modimolle on their way to Polo- kwane."
Powell said the summit will be addressed by representatives of Match, Fifa's accommodation and ticketing agency for the Confederations Cup and World Cup.
"We thought it would be a good idea to get people from Match to explain in detail all the requirements for those who want to benefit from the World Cup in the accommodation sector," Powell said.
"There are a lot of business opportunities in the World Cup, so we will be organising other summits dealing with marketing, security and hospitality for our people."
Soccer leader and businessman- turned-politician Tebogo Mohapi, the mayor of Modimolle municipality, will also speak at the summit.
Mohapi is the former owner of Modimolle Troublemakers.
