Yesterday the SACP called on the police to investigate a case of perjury against Madisha.
"We call on the SAPS to bring this matter to finality and investigate the probability that both [Charles] Modise and Madisha have involved themselves in serious perjury," said the party.
On Wednesday Cosatu announced Madisha's expulsion as its president, saying he had brought the federation into disrepute by making false allegations against SACP general secretary Blade Nzimande.
Yesterday SACP deputy secretary Jeremy Cronin said Madisha's matter was now in the hands of the party's disciplinary committee.
Cronin confirmed that Madisha could face expulsion from the party on the basis of the results of the investigations conducted into the matter. - Ido Lekota
