SuperSport United want to prove they are the real deal in Tshwane as neighbours and defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns continue to flounder.

It is for this reason that Matsatsantsa a Pitori are confident going into their Absa Premiership game with Bidvest Wits at Milpark Stadium today at 8pm.

United's communications manager, David "Mazolman" Skosana, was in his element when he said: "We can stand our own against any team in the league.

"We are also not going to do any favours for anybody, including our neighbours Sundowns, who were felled 3-1 by Moroka Swallows on Wednesday.''

Wits coach Roger de Sa said they respected United, who deserved to be second on the log.

"But my boys are fit and have promised not to give away valuable points at home, starting with United tonight,'' said De Sa.

He was pleased with youngsters promoted from the Under-19 development side.
