Mercedes-Benz have always done well as far as the C-Class is concerned.

The marque's C-Class range has always been a success story, model after model.

The current C-Class range was launched last year without the base model C180 Kompressor.

The fourth-generation of this best-selling Mercedes-Benz saloon was launched in August last year in a number of model variants.

The C180 Kompressor was launched in East London last week to complete the range.

Though smaller, the new C180 Kompressor is unmistakeably a C-Class.

As the youngest member of the C-Class range, the C180 Kompressor caters for those who want Mercedes-Benz luxury but not a bigger vehicle.

Like other models in the range, the baby C-Class comes with enough safety and convenient features to make you melt.

It is fitted with the latest technological features, including adaptive brakes.

This is another new development in the area of running gear technology. Based on the technology of the S-Class, it provides additional support functions for more safety and comfort.

Power output of the C180 K was increased from 105kW to 115kW. Torque was increased by 10Nm to 230Nm.

The C180K model is fitted with a six-speed manual transmission and can be ordered with the optional five-speed automatic transmission.

The safety technology in the interior has been complemented, with six airbags included as standard equipment, seat back rests and two large window bags that extend from the A to the C-pillar in a side impact.

The C180K retails for R284000.
