Mpumalanga music enthusiasts should brace themselves for another Secunda Jazz and Cultural Festival.

Sejacufe takes place this Saturday, March 1, at Secunda Stadium.

The event, which has attracted huge crowds to the province, is in its sixth year. The festival has real substance and showcases the area's capabilities and talents.

Its aim of developing local talent and ensuring growth in jazz and other genres seems to be working.

On February 3 it organised a PreJol Jazz Session at Khotso Tsotetsi Lapa in Embalenhle to gear up music lovers for the real event this Saturday.

The sizzling line-up for this year's festival is sufficient to draw music fans from throughout South Africa to Secunda.

Among the artists featured are Bhudaza Maphefane, Freshleyground, Siphokazi, Khanyo Maphumulo, Ntando and Peter Nthwane.

Lesotho-born Bhudaza is one of the few artists who have succeeded in turning South Africa into a regular hunting ground.

He is one of the continent's most revered exponents of world music. Since the release of his debut album Bo Mapefane, which won him great accolades, Bhudaza has shown his true talent.

Khanyo Maphumulo, the talented but yet underrated musician, will be showcasing her vocal skills.

Having worked with musicians such as the late Jabu Khanyile and Letta Mbulu-Semenya, Maphumulo is a versatile individual who can sing just about any type of music.

Award-winning Freshlyground will offer their entertaining and unique sound that has wooed local and international audiences. With the group's third album Macheri selling so well and also receiving extensive airplay, it's obvious that Freshlyground has arrived.

Another exciting singer who has been added to the line-up is Siphokazi, who has done very well for herself in the past two years.
