Barberton City Stars need only win one of their two remaining matches to secure the Mpumalanga Vodacom League title.

Stars managed to bag three valuable points when they beat FC Spurs 3-2 away at Ackerville Stadium in Witbank at the weekend.

They are now perched at the top of the league table with 52 points after 28 games. Their closest rivals, Batau Killers and Mighty Mega Force, follow with 52 and 50 points after the same number of games.

Aaron "Squash" Shongwe, Stars' coach, predicts that they will wrap up the league on Saturday when they host FC Benfica at Emjindini Stadium in Barberton. The game kicks off at 3pm.

"We want to beat Benfica and celebrate with our supporters since this will be the last match this season at home. A big celebration is on the cards after the game," said Shongwe.

Other results: Walter Stars 0, Kwazanele Manchester 0; FC Benfica 1, Yorkcor United 0; FC Henemat 2, Mighty Mega Force 3; Ehlanzeni Barcelona 0, Batau Killers 2; Aces Academy 0, Winners 1; Secunda Stars 1, Mighty Saints 1, ELB Movers 1, Sekhukhune Masters 2.
