LIVERPOOL - Premier League high flyers Everton want South African midfielder Steven Pienaar, right, to stay at Goodison Park.

Pienaar has impressed Everton boss David Moyes since his arrival on a season-long loan deal from German side Borussia Dortmund, playing an important role as the Merseysiders chase the Uefa Cup title as well as a place in the Champions League next season.

"Obviously we would like to keep him. We have a deal with Borussia Dortmund to the end of the season," Moyes told www.evertonfc.com.

"We are quite comfortable with it at the moment. The fee is agreed. I think he's enjoying himself. He feels wanted here. He's comfortable with the surroundings.

"It's easier that he has other African players here as well. He would tell you that he's really enjoying his spell here. Does it surprise me that he's doing well? He was very good at Ajax."

The Blues boss also said Pienaar had been a target of his even before the switch to Borussia. - Sapa-AFP
