The new public protector says she will leave the dispute over the state capture report prepared by h.
My 22-year-old son was involved in a fight and the other boy ended up in hospital. My son was jailed for 18 months.
He had just started getting his life together. He had a lovely girlfriend and was studying computers. The other boy's parents pressed charges, but their son started the fight. My son was wrong and must be punished, but it seems so unfair.
He is in a terrible state, suffers from depression and very worried that his girlfriend will desert him.
I don't want to get out of bed in the morning and feel terribly sad. My life seems to be falling apart and I feel as if I don't want to go on any more.
Sad Mother, Polokwane
I am so sorry and can only imagine how distressed you are, but as a mother you will have to keep strong to help your son. You must visit, write, phone him and encourage your family to do the same. Though his sentence seems unfair, he has to take responsibility for what he did. Urge him to study in prison. Tell him that he has to be realistic about his girlfriend.
You could be suffering from shock, depression and stress. Seek advice from a doctor. In time you will all find your own ways to cope.
