Traffic head pioneer dies

One of the first black traffic officers to head a Johannesburg unit, Robert "Rocks" Mabinda-Ndukula, has died.

One of the first black traffic officers to head a Johannesburg unit, Robert "Rocks" Mabinda-Ndukula, has died.

Mabinda-Ndukula was born in Sophiatown on October 28 1935. He attended primary school in Tzaneen, Limpopo, and finished high school in Orlando East, Soweto. He then became a traffic officer.

He is survived by his wife and five children. He will be buried at Avalon Cemetery on Saturday after a service at 1552B Nepawe Street, Chiawelo. - Penwell Dlamini
