Angry LSA cracks whip

Limpopo Softball Association (LSA) has promised to take harsh disciplinary measurers against teams who fail to honour their matches.

"We can't allow teams not to honour their fixtures or to arrive late for matches," Polelo "Mr Magic" Masola, LSA's general secretary, warned yesterday.

"The problem with some of our team officials is that they don't attend meetings. It is at these meetings that we take decisions and also change fixtures.

"We will not allow clubs to stay away from their matches. Mashite Eagles cited this as their reason for not honouring their matches on Sunday."

Eagles were pitted against Moletlane Texas and University of Limpopo in the LimDev Super League. Their failure to pitch up at Sebayeng diamonds in Solomondale saw them forfeit six points.

Hlakano Dodgers arrived late and missed their encounter with Texas, who moved to second position on the log on 33 points from 12 matches. Mahwelereng Spikes lead the log with 42 points.

Lebowakgomo Wildbeasts jumped to third spot on 27 points after registering two wins in Sebayeng, as expected.

They walloped ailing hosts Sebayeng Sharks 9-2 and went on to demolish University 12-3. Sharks were also beaten 11-6 by latecomers Dodgers.

Results:

Wildbeasts 9, Sharks 2; Dodgers 11, Sharks 6; Wildbeasts 12, University 3; Texas 7, Eagles 0; Texas 7, Dodgers 0; University 7, Eagles 0.
