King Kamte back

James Kamte flew home from Indonesia last night for this week's Telkom PGA Championship clasping a cheque worth close to R500000 after a third-place finish at the European and Asian Tour's Indonesia Open in Jakarta.

The young star from Eastern Cape put himself in contention with a first round 62 and stayed in touch with consistent rounds of 67 and 68. Despite three bogeys on the last day, Kamte collected five birdies and holed out for number six to stay in touch with the eventual winner, Felipe Aguillar.

Kamte's 72-hole score was just two shots shy of the Chilean's winning 18-under-par 262, handing him a share of third alongside Prom Meesawat of Thailand.

Indian favourite Jeev Milka Singh finished alone in second. - Sowetan
