Lebowakgomo Wildbeasts have an outside chance of winning the LimDev Super League title this season and they are likely to reinforce their title challenge against weak opponents in Solomondale on Sunday.

They take on struggling hosts Sebayeng Sharks in the opening match at 10:30am and close the six-match lineup against the equally battling University of Limpopo at 3:30pm.

The matches will be played at Sebayeng diamonds, east of Polokwane.

Wildbeasts are fourth on the log on 21 points from 10 matches, trailing runaway leaders and defending champions Mahwelereng Spikes by the same number of points.

Spikes are left with nine matches to wind up their impressive campaign this season, while Wildbeasts are still to play 12 matches.

Sharks, who were promoted to the elite league at the beginning of the season, are likely to return to the regional league in May, with Mashite Eagles.

Eagles, the Super League returnees, are rooted to the foot of the table and it appears that only a miracle will help them to avoid the axe this term.

They engage University at 1pm, before tackling third-placed Moletlane Texas at 3:30pm in a clash many softball followers see as a mismatch.
