Youth development champion Sowetan Education Power Your Future continues to enrich the lives of high school pupils.

The newspaper's popular supplement is published on Wednesdays and the Learning Channel is screened on SABC1 on weekdays from 10am to noon.

Forthcoming special features include The world of skills training on February 20, Is it worth it working as a volunteer? on February 27, All about FET colleges on March 5 and All about higher education on March 12.

Because it is always spiritually-uplifting to belong to a collective that has our nation's best interests at heart, Sowetan Education Power Your Future has started the Planet PYF for both teachers and pupils. One of the benefits, primarily for pupils, is the Starter Pack, which targets literate unemployed youths.

Presented as a competition or lucky draw, Planet PYF is giving away 10 starter packs. The packs consist of four "kick-start" goodies:

l Dressed-4-Life. This is a head-to-tow makeover which will make the beneficiaries look very smart and professional too. This treat includes hair treatment, manicure, complete work-smart outfit and a cellphone to keep you in touch with the job market.

l Paperwork-4-Life is good, practical advice on which official or informal procedures are important to get ahead in the workplace, as well as financial and other related assistance when applying for an identity and other crucial documents.

l On The Road is tuition and assistance towards passing a learner driver's licence test.

l Career Quest Workshops is skills training for the workplace such as how to write great CVs, do well in interviews and what else to expect in the world of jobs as well as acquiring self-confidence, assertiveness and communication skills.

l For clues and other starter pack-related information, continue reading the undisputed youth-development champion, Sowetan Education Power Your Future every Wednesday.
