Bucs to unveil new jersey

Trendsetters Orlando Pirates are celebrating their 70th anniversary this year with a new limited edition kit to be unveiled next week.

Pirates will unveil the new kit when they entertain Mamelodi Sundowns in an Absa Premiership match at Johannesburg Stadium on Wednesday night.

"It is true that we have a new jersey, a limited edition designed by our technical sponsors, Adidas," said Floyd "Jomo" Mbele, Pirates' head of administration.

"It's so beautiful, I can tell you everybody will just fall in love with it. I know people have been saying all sorts of things about it.

"We could not unveil it yesterday [Wednesday] when we beat Moroka Swallows 3-0 at Olen Park in Potchefstroom because our first home match of the second round is against Sundowns."

Bob Mabaso, Adidas South Africa soccer marketing manager, said: "We are naturally excited to have designed the new limited jersey for Pirates."
