Management at a SABC radio station in Limpopo is under fire following allegations of sexual harassment, bribery, staff appointments and over payment in certain cases.

Staff at Phalaphala fm, a Tshivenda radio station broadcasting from Polokwane, is allegedly divided since the auditors began their probe.

Sowetan has been reliably informed by a source at Phalaphala fm that auditors are investigating the alleged shenanigans at the station.

"Someone was allegedly asked to rig a vote in respect of the category of station presenter of the year.

"There are also allegations that some workers receive fat salaries for working only a few hours, while others receive peanuts while slaving for long hours," said the source.

Some managers allegedly demand sexual favours in return for plum jobs.

It is alleged that the deterioration in the state of affairs at the station became worse after the departure of former head Victor Ravhuanzwo, who is now a regional manager.

SABC spokesman Kaizer Kganyago refuted claims that staff appointments were part of the auditors' investigations.

"The SABC confirms that our internal audit department received allegations with regards to the station's awards. The auditors investigated the allegations and their findings will be released soon," said Kganyago.
