Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
A Mpumalanga police inspector who faces seven charges of corruption - after allegedly defrauding unsuspecting youth of more than R13000 - is still at work.
Isaac Nobunga, 40, who is attached to the Bushbuckridge police station, allegedly defrauded seven people he promised to have trained for a job in the South African Police Service.
Captain Leonard Hlathi said an investigation was set up after the youth Nobunga had promised to send to training last month - came to the police station to enquire about his training schedule.
Nobunga was arrested and appeared in the Bushbuckridge magistrate's court. Hlathi said he was released on R5000 bail.
"He is still at work but it is just a matter of time before he is suspended," said Hlathi.
His case was postponed to February 27.
