Five final-year drama students at Durban University of Technology (DUT) have won a competition of a lifetime - they will meet the Queen of England on Valentine's Day on February 14.

The Destiny Youth Project put together an HIV-Aids Awareness Campaign which caught the eye of a panel of judges. Thirteen groups were shortlisted for the Enterprise 4 Life competition, which is a project run by Tabeisa, an NGO based at DUT. Fifty groups originally entered the competition.

Tabeisa is a network of educational institutions that has been in operation for ten years. It helps higher education institutions to become catalysts for economic regeneration.

In September 2004 Tabeisa was nominated by the European Union as a success story in poverty alleviation and employment creation.

The five students have been invited to a dinner with the Queen of England and will visit theatres around London to gain experience. Tabeisa UK Office will pay all the expenses. They leave for the UK next week.

The lucky students said they were thrilled at the opportunity to meet the Queen.
