Teams from the Premiership, the National First Division and the Vodacom League were in a rush yesterday to sign up players before the transfer window closed at midnight.

But it was evident that most of the top teams in the elite league did not go into the market like before, to make the big catches before the registration deadline.

Jomo Cosmos winger Anthony Laffor, who was on the wanted list of Mamelodi Sundowns, instead joined bitter rivals and neighbours SuperSport United, who snatched the player from under their noses on Wednesday.

Thanda Royal Zulu appeared to have netted a player of note in Emmanuel "Scara" Ngobese from Kaizer Chiefs.

Others who were signed by this coastal side are July Mahlangu from Benoni Premier United and Musa Nyatama from Bidvest Wits.
