The body of a man found alongside a road has been lying in a KwaZulu-Natal mortuary for the past 13 months.

Mzokhanyayo Ngengelezi Shange is believed to have been in his 40s and was from Smozomeni Reserve in Richmond.

His body was found along Monzi Road near a popular golf course last year.

"The police presume that Shange was run over by a car as he was badly injured," Captain Jabulani Mdletshe said yesterday.

The body was taken to the Mtubatuba mortuary and has not been claimed by family or relatives.

"No one was able to identify him and the deceased's fingerprints were sent to Pretoria for forensic analysis to identify him," said Mdletshe. - Sapa
