Some people feel very deeply about car brands. Some even go to great lengths to demonstrate their love for certain brands.

This was evident when a group of Citi Golf owners took to the streets of Pretoria last weekend to demonstrate this love for their favourite car and also to officially launch an owners club.

The drive started in Mamelodi and ended at a VW dealership in Pretoria East.

Rally organisers were Kagiso Madziba, Moeletsi Malele, Johannes Mabeka and Limy Kola.

They said there was a great need for such a club, to ensure members get the most out of their City Golfs.

Madziba said the aim of the club was to curb theft and also to highlight Citi Golf in the entry level segment. He said it was preferable to own a car that had been tried and tested and been around for so long because it gave one total peace of mind.

Members will meet twice a month in Mamelodi to give feedback on anything and everything about their cars. The project will be extended to other provinces later in the year.
