Wynand Koekemoer, 38, and Deon Veldhysen, 32, yesterday appeared in the Bellville magistrate's court for the third time since their arrest in October.

It is alleged that they tried to influence officials at the Bellville court with false information in order to secure the release of an arrested suspect on bail .

At yesterday's proceedings before magistrate Clive Linden, prosecutor Eric Hanse said the case could not be held at the Bellville magistrate's court as all the state witnesses, including an unnamed magistrate, were based at the Bellville court.

The case was postponed to March 17, and bail of R2000 each was extended. - Sapa
