Understanding and knowing one's customers is the greatest weapon of every business.
Aloofness can be the fall of any business.
In South Africa, there are two car manufacturers who can pride themselves with understanding and knowing their customers better than any - Toyota and Volkswagen.
Not that others do not, but these two have done it well.
Take a look at VW's Citi Golf range, for example. It keeps going strong no matter how outdated the technology.
VWSA says the Citi is here to stay. This was emphasised by the introduction of the new Citi range, which consists of TenaCiti, CitiStorm, CitiSport and CitiRox.
According to VWSA, the new range has been structured to accommodate the 2008 EU2 emissions requirements and the ongoing consumer demand for affordable motoring in a fun-to-drive package.
The TenaCiti 1,4i produces 55kW of power at 5000rpm and 117Nm of torque at 3500rpm. CitiStorm 1,4 and CitiSport 1,4i as well as CitiRox 1,4i all generate a power output of 62kW at 5500rpm and 124Nm of torque at 4400rpm.
The CitiSport 1,6i and CitiRox 1,6i both have a power output of 74kW at 5400rpm and torque of 140Nm at 4400rpm.
Pricing is as follows:
TenaCiti 1,4i R72950

CitiSport 1,4i R82200
CitiRox 1,4i R89300
