A 22-year-old Limpopo man is pleading for financial support to enable him to complete his legal studies.

Calvin Hobyane, from the tiny village of Mninginisi outside Giyani, passed his half- yearly exams with flying colours in his first year of study in 2004.

But he could not even complete that year because the loan he got from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) was insufficient.

"I didn't have a penny to add to what NSFAS was giving me and I'm dying to complete my degree," Hobyane said yesterday.

He showed Sowetan a copy of his half-yearly results showing he had passed all the courses.

Hobyane was majoring in criminology and policing studies.

"I really need to pursue a career in criminal justice and it's only with financial assistance that my dreams can become a reality.

"I have so far approached Premier Sello Moloto's offices, the offices of the Youth Commission and the SABC offices in Polokwane but I couldn't get any help.

"All I need is financial assistance to fulfil my dreams," he said.

He said he had travelled to Polokwane from home with the hope of finding assistance. To help, Hobyane can be contacted on 073-861-1053.
