Police said seven suspects arrived at Yang's shop in Ogies, Mpumalanga, when he was about to close at about 6pm and ordered him to lie down.
They then allegedly stole several items such as takkies, jeans, cellphones and a computer.
Police spokesman, Captain Leonard Hlathi said: "The suspects then assaulted and stabbed Yang twice in the chest before setting his shop alight, with him inside."
He said Yang was burnt beyond recognition.
Five suspects were arrested last Wednesday in Phola and Ogies villages, but two of them are still at large. The woman, 18, appeared in court on Thursday.
