Lions line up warm-up ties

The Lions, who finished fourth on the log last year, have lined up warm-up games to prepare for the coming Super 14 competition that starts on February 15.

They will battle it out against neighbours the Bulls in Windhoek on February 2 and, four days later, travel to KwaZulu-Natal to they face the Sharks.

The Doornfonten outfit assembled on Sunday after the festive break and coach Eugene "Lofi'' Eloff was delighted that everybody pitched-up for training.

"Both games will be of more help in sharpening up the team in preparation for a tough competition next month,'' said Eloff.

Before their final friendly against the Lions on February 2, the Bulls, who are under new coach, Frans Ludeke, will play three games against the Currie Cup teams.

They meet the Falcons in Brakpan on January 24, challenge Boland in Wellington two days later.

The will finally take on the Lions' B team in Johannesburg on January 31.

The Lions will come up against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein in their opening Super 14 games, on February 16,.

The Bulls, on the other hand, meet the Stormers in Cape Town on the same day.
