I am fed up- Berbatov

LONDON - Tottenham Hotspur striker Dimitar Berbatov has admitted that transfer speculation over his future at White Hart Lane is starting to affect him.

LONDON - Tottenham Hotspur striker Dimitar Berbatov has admitted that transfer speculation over his future at White Hart Lane is starting to affect him.

Berbatov, 26, has been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea in the January transfer window, with Spurs placing a £30 million (about R418 million) price tag on his head.

But the Bulgarian said: "It's getting absurd and I'm fed up of seeing my name in the papers all the time. I wish the press would leave me alone. I just want to play my game. I'm happy at the moment, we'll see what will happen."

He added: "It's obvious that the speculation will continue to the end. But the worst thing is that I see 'my' quotes which I've never said and it's something that makes me feel bad."

Berbatov has 13 goals this season and is reportedly attracting interest from Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge.

Spurs have placed a British transfer record fee on his head and Berbatov feels it is an unrealistic price tag for his services.

He also feels that Spurs, under new manager Juande Ramos, can bring trophies to White Hart Lane.

"Such hysteria seems to me stupid, I'm not worth so much money," said the former Bayer Leverkusen striker.

I'm happy at the moment, we'll see what will happen. I know I can win trophies with Spurs." - BBC
