The man who was feared to be dead after he had been hijacked has resurfaced and said that he was happy and lucky to be alive.
The man has also flatly refuted earlier claims that he was bundled inside the boot of his car during the alleged hijacking.
Lulama Mgijima was walking to a friend's home when Kingsley Nwachukwu stopped the car next to her offering her a lift. Nwachukwu and Mgijima had just formally met when suddenly two men, one armed with a pistol, approached the red Toyota Corolla they were in. The incident happened at about 7pm on Tuesday near the Cresta shopping centre.
Nwachukwu said the two thugs took off in his car, with Mgijima still inside, leaving him behind.
Speaking to Sowetan yesterday, after a brief visit to the Helen Joseph Hospital where Mgijima is admitted, Nwachukwu said: "I am just happy the the lady is okay. I was very worried about her."
